The AELP National Conference 2016 website is currently under construction and will be available shortly.

Overview

The AELP National Conference 2015 will take place less than a month after the first Queen’s Speech under the new government. Already we know that the legislative programme will contain a bill on employment and apprenticeships, while on his arrival back at Downing Street after the election, the Prime Minister announced apprenticeship growth first in his list of priorities. Our conference will therefore present an ideal opportunity to debate how the government’s ambitions can be achieved and to measure all of the employment and skills priorities against the 10-point plan which was in AELP’s own manifesto.

The future of Apprenticeships and Traineeships will be high on the agenda while we could have an early indication on what will replace the Work Programme. The new government’s commitment to devolving responsibilities for employment and skills to the English cities and LEPs will be another hot topic for debate and at this year’s National Conference we will be looking at how other countries are tackling the skills challenge.

A great mix of plenary sessions, workshops for sharing best practice and networking opportunities will make this conference the employment and skills conference of 2015!
